*Rates are based upon a minimum of 1 hour charge and then 1/2 hour units thereafter. Rates are per hour for labour only and are not subject to VAT. 

Materials, parking costs and congestion charges (if applicable) are payable in addition.

Payment is to be made in full to the engineer upon receipt of the invoice.  We accept credit/debit card, cash or BACS. We carry IZettle portable card readers, so payment can be made from the comfort of your home, simply and easily.

Richard at Redhead Plumbing & Heating Ltd is a fully qualified Gas Safe Registered engineer. This means that he is legally allowed to carry out domestic gas work, which includes boiler servicing and repair, central heating installation and commissioning, and conducting Landlord Gas Safety Certificates (CP-12).

With this registration comes the responsibility to uphold standards of safety outlined by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Particular carefully attention is applied to appropriate British standard and Regulations. 

REDHEAD Plumbing & Heating Ltd holds Public Liability Insurance to the value of £2 million.

Don't cut corners with gas

Always use a Gas Safe Registered Engineer. By law all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register to work safely and legally on gas appliances.

My partner’s heating failed on a very cold Saturday afternoon in January. I checked the Which site and we decided to try Richard Ward. Richard, although away for the weekend came to see her as soon as he got back on the Sunday evening and fixed the problem in a few minutes charging a very reasonable sum, as he said he had not done much! He also explained that the boiler might need a new part or might need to be replaced (it was 17 years old) and the best thing to do was monitor it. He also gave advice on how to manage a pressure problem if it should reoccur. His approach was very clear and straightforward. 

However, the boiler progressively deteriorated in subsequent weeks and so my partner agreed to Richard’s suggestion that he should try a relatively cheap solution first by fitting a new part, knowing that if this did not work the boiler would have to be replaced. As it transpired the boiler did need to be replaced. A quote arrived promptly and was very competitive. But the final cost was in fact less.

To tide her over during a very cold patch until he could fit the new boiler, Richard leant my partner temporary heaters for 8 days.

My partner and I unreservedly recommend Richard. His prices are fair and he is a pleasant person to have working in your house. He is excellent at explaining issues and problems in simple terms to non-technical people. His standards of workmanship are very high and he is highly reliable. He was most pleasant and reassuring and even from the first conversation, I felt like I was talking to a competent and capable engineer - he proved that he was just that!
